★ Its tall body is muscular and strong. The ears are of medium length, the tail can be cropped, and the legs are long, with big paws.
★ The coat is short to medium in length. Common coat colors are white, brown, and black. A brindle pattern is also seen in this breed.
★ It loves to be around its family and is very protective. Children will be very safe with this dog around.
★ It tends to be wary of strangers and will alert its owners of any danger. Mastiffs are guard dogs, but do not tend to bite. Instead, they push the suspicious person to the ground. So, there is a chance that your Boxmas may do the same.
★ It also tends to have that typical ‘doggy smell’ most of the time. Hence, a monthly bathing ritual must be followed as a rule.
★ Training a Boxmas can be a bit of trouble. This dog is intelligent and independent and hence is prone to stubbornness. All you need is patience, a very, very sweet tone, and some doggy treats. Then it won’t be difficult at all.
